Diachishin has a special affinity for Scottish folk tunes. In the 1990s she crafted a successful debut folk album, Now is the Time for a Song. After a hiatus to teach and raise her kids, she has returned to the stage, to the delight of her audiences. Rich Newman is a journeyman on the Hudson Valley open mic circuit whose songs include memorable musings on love, loss and longevity, all of which were, as he puts it, "carefully extracted from the lint filter of my heart." Together as Break the Bright Red Chains, Diachishin and Newman perform their original songs, traditional tunes, classic country hits, contemporary folk and Americana, and parodies.

Their show begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop-from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Throughout the show, DWP takes you on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts, and Flamingos right through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and the Four Seasons...all the way to Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, and Amy Winehouse.Featuring current and former stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, along with their hot band, The Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate — and in some cases reimagine — some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history. Between them, these five young performers count various Tony Awards, Grammy nominations, and other accolades to their names.Enjoy a nigh

Born from the mind of a Silicon Valley video game developer, Choo Choo Soul began as a children’s hip-hop/soul album that “won’t drive parents crazy.” The album caught fire and the brand was acquired by Disney and developed into a live-action television interstitial paired with animation in 2006 that encouraged young viewers to get up and dance to their funky, urban sound. Choo Choo Soul began touring the country in 2007 and has performed for thousands of children in over 100 cities across the globe. With the wildfire success of the go-to duo for tots, Disney commissioned a release of their second studio album; a remake mash up of Classic Disney hits. Seven Freedoms Music & Records
22 Railroad Avenue
Montgomery, NY   See Map
Since his first solo concert in 1996, Fred Gillen Jr has traveled all over the U.S. and Europe singing his songs of hope and struggle at all types of venues, building a devoted following along the way. He feels at home performing at any type and size of venue, from a "house concert" in Indiana to Irving Plaza in New York City, to the main stages of festivals, and everything in between. He has played at many prestigious and famous venues, and as many farmers markets, coffeehouses, pubs, and union rallies. At every performance he opens his heart and pours out compelling tales of the marginalized and forgotten. His songs have often been described as both painfully intimate and universal, and this is what he strives for in writing them.

Mike Aiken is an Americana, Country, Roots artist with an ocean view. Originally from rural Western New York, outside of Buffalo, he currently lives aboard his sailboat in Norfolk, Virginia when he’s not on the road or in Nashville. His highly anticipated seventh studio album, WAYWARD TROUBADOUR, will be released early in 2018, a follow up to Grammy-nominated CAPTAINS & COWBOYS. An inner sense of chivalry oozes from every story he tells and every song he sings. Aiken has drawn tales - and hope - from “trail riders, aging rodeo champs, sea captains, Rastafarians and outlaws on the lamb” and crafted tunes that draw the threads of these independent spirits together. Live you can expect to hear upbeat, rootsy grooves, from slide guitar to honky-tonk piano, percussion and incredible harmony. Aiken’s love for singing, songwriting and sailing has taken him all over the world. As a songwriter who comes by his stories honestly, he puts pen to paper and shares his colored and colorful life..

Reunited at last! The legendary Wailers bands are back together and are bringing its revolutionary sound to the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater! For the time since the death of Bob Marley, all but one of the original members, Carlton Barret who was tragically murdered in 1987, shall come together again to make another display of musical unity! Family Man will be joined by his son, Aston Junior, on drums, along with Seeco, Way, Tyrone, Donald Kinsey and Junior Marvin. It is the moment so many reggae fans have always dreamt of, despite the many obstacles that might have been in the way. From 1973 to 1980, Bob Marley & the Wailers recorded, toured, and performed before millions worldwide. Since 1981, Familyman and Junior have carried on the mission to “keep The Wailers together,” just as Bob requested, affirming. “By doing that, you keep me alive through the music.”

Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Nadav Snir-Zelniker (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles. The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts.

The group will be playing original tunes, jazz standards, lost classics and rare gems.

Jacqui Naylor Quartet
Jazz
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
"Naylor remains one of the most superbly arresting vocalists around." - JazzTimes

"Naylor excels as a sensitive song interpreter with unerring intonation." - DownBeat

"Jacqui has a sumptuous voice, knack for scratchiness, and an ability to sweeten those bluesy bent notes." - Village Voice

This velvet-toned vocalist and songwriter is equally at ease singing music by Cole Porter and David Byrne as she is her own original music. Far from a straight-laced jazz purist, Naylor has made the mixing (and sometimes "smashing") of genres and eras her stock-in-trade, gaining fans and notoriety for singing the lyrics and melody of jazz standards over the grooves of well-known pop and rock songs and vice versa. "Naylor has brought new twists to the notion of melding jazz and pop tunes - without high-tech assistance," claims NPR.
