Cyndi Washburn is a folk singer songwriter who was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and now lives in New York. She studied voice in college and has performed in everything from cover bands to operas. However, she has always been a folk singer at heart, having been raised on classics like Peter, Paul, and Mary and John Denver. So several years ago, she left all other musical genres behind to follow her heart and soul and focus solely on being a folk singer songwriter. She has performed all over the East Coast and the Southern part of the United States. She has also been awarded 2016 Best Folk Artist at the Womenincharg3 Music Awards in Atlanta. She has recently been featured on the worldwide podcast INDI Music News. Her music is honest and beautiful, peppered with heartbreak and even a little humor. She has been compared to Joni Mitchell and has been called a "modern day Joan Baez." She credits her main inspirations to be Jewel, Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Shania Twain, and Taylor Swift.
