Take some of the pain out of advertising your gigs
October 19, 2011

There are so many ways now to advertise your gigs: on-line calendars, mailing lists, and all the paid advertising that most of us can't afford. Who wants to spend the time to send the same gig information to multiple places, and add it to your website too?

At HVmusic we have one way to lessen the load. Did you know that you can setup a calendar on HVmusic so that the events you enter here can be displayed on your website too?

  1. Login to your HVmusic account.
  2. Make sure you already have a listing created for yourself (a band/artist listing for musicians, or a club/venue listing for music clubs)
  3. Go to the calendar page
  4. Click "Create a new calendar". On that page you associate this calendar with your band or club listing. You can also adjust the colors used in the calendar to match your website.
  5. When done, "preview" the calendar you've just created to get instructions to put it on your website.

Here is what the calendar looks like on the website of our friends at 12Grapes.com...

In addition to the long form of the calendar, you can also use a short version to go on your home page. The instructions for that are also given when you "preview" your calendar. Here is what this looks like on the home page of our friends MikeandRuthy.com.

All these updates to your website happen just by editing your events on HVmusic.com.

And remember that we also send emails notifying local magazines and web sites about the events you create on HVmusic. We're trying hard to lighten your load and we hope these features are useful to you. Give them a try!
